D-Gas LPG Vehicle Scheme
Up To $2000 Available
The Federal Government provides grants to purchase an LPG vehicle or for converting a diesel or petrol vehicle to run on LPG. In
addition to the Federal Government Grant the Western Australian Government is offering an extra $1,000, a total rebate of $3,000.
The "LPG Vehicle Scheme" commenced on 14 August 2006, runs until 30 June 2014 (8 Years) and is administered by AusIndustry.
The grants include the following:
- $2,000 toward the cost of an LPG conversion of a new or used motor vehicle for non-business use
- $1,000 toward a factory-fitted LPG vehicle for non-business use
To be eligible the vehicle must be:
- Is for private use (not commercial or business use)
- Is a passenger or light commercial vehicle less than 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass
- Must be registered in the Australian state or territory of residence of claimant
- Is not subject to a novated lease or salary sacrifice arrangement
- Must be registered for private use in NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, and the ACT
- Must be declared for private use if registered in SA, TAS and NT
- One conversion per person every three years
You will need to pay for the purchase or conversion first and then claim back the grant from either a Centrelink or Medicare office.
Applications can be submitted from 1 October 2006 and you will need a receipt for the installation or purchase showing a payment
date of 14 Aug 2006 or later.
